On Thursday January 26, the school’s pupils celebrated the Chinese/Vietnamese New Year, with the arrival in the year of the rabbit/cat: the “chapin”. It was an opportunity for the children to spend a day discovering different elements of Asian cultures through a variety of workshops, games and shows.
With the support of their teachers, the kindergarteners, like all the other pupils, were able to write down their wishes for the New Year before slipping them into wish balloons. They also created their lucky cat’s paw, then admired shadow puppet shows written and performed by the primary school children.
The middle-schoolers chose to take on the creation of artistic and cultural activities linked to Asia for the primary school children: calligraphy, Tai Chi and strategy games, always supervised and guided by the elders in the spirit of transmitting the Pedagogy of Sense®.
The entire Antonia International School also shared an Asian-flavored meal, an opportunity to develop fine motor skills with chopsticks, and an explosion of wish balloons to bring the day to a joyous close.
